I studied Economics at Bath University, after which I spent 6 months exploring South America before starting at TPP in the new year. TPP stood out to me because I knew the work would be stimulating and have a real impact in an industry that matters.
I wanted a career that would allow me to learn and grow, and my time in South America gave me an affinity for travel, so I was keen to apply when I saw that TPP offered it all.
As a Software Developer (or “coder”), I write the code that makes the system work – right from the inner workings of SystmOne to making user interfaces more intuitive. I’ve been able to get stuck in to a variety of exciting projects – for example making adjustments to our clinical system for use in medical centres in Qatar for the world cup workers. I have enjoyed the occasional travel involved with the job, from running pub quizzes in London for recruitment to scoping out potential future sites in China!
TPP is a great place to work – colleagues are always willing to take the time to help you and it’s great working with like-minded people who are a lot of fun both inside and outside the office. The job also comes with a lot of perks – free drinks at the pub on Fridays are a great way to relax and have a good time at the end of the week.
Coming from London, I was slightly sceptical about the North, but Leeds has proven to be a great place to live. The city itself has a lot going on and there’s always something new to discover. The surrounding countryside means you don’t have to go far at all to find a bit of peace, a beautiful walking route or a nice country pub.
TPP is an incredible place to grow – the hands-on approach means you’re never stuck in a classroom but are still always learning. Despite having absolutely no prior experience writing code, I was still able to contribute to project work right from the beginning.Back to profiles
